Lowe unstoppable in Sooner Series win at Enid Speedway

 

by John Rittenoure - ENID, Okla. (September 12, 2020) - A new winner emerged in Sooner Late Model Series competition Saturday at Enid Speedway. 

 

Gary Lowe raced unchallenged around the high banked 3/8’s mile oval to post his first victory of the season.

 

Jerry Derr jumped into the early lead until the yellow waved after four laps. Lowe took over on the restart and was chased by 18-year old Hayden Ross. After 14 laps Ross fell out with mechanical problems and newcomer Jeremy Petty battled past Bobby McGehee for the second spot. Petty finished second but could not challenge Lowe. Ross McCartney and Adam Popp founded out the top five behind third-place McGehee.
