Sooner Series returns to Enid Speedway on Saturday

By John Rittenoure - TULSA, Okla. (September 18, 2019) - The Sooner Late Model Series is back in action this Saturday with a return to Enid Speedway. It will be the fifth visit of the season for the Sooner Series at the Garfield County Fairgrounds oval that has been dominated by series points leader Kip Hughes.

However, Enid is not the only place the defending series champion has had success. Hughes has won five of the last six events and is riding a streak of four straight wins.

Hughes is being chased in the points race by Damion Patocka, who has won victory on the season, Steven Hawkins and Wayne Bush.

Pure Stocks, Sport Mods and A-Modifieds will also be in action. Mark Smith currently leads the pure stock points chase with one victory on the season. Beau Davis holds a slim lead over JD Choate in A-mods and Brandon Gritz leads the points race in sport mods.

Racing gets underway on Saturday at 7:30.
